FAQs

Salt Cave – Halotherapy

Do we need to book a reservation?

We recommend calling ahead of time to reserve your sessions. While the salt cave sessions are held each hour, with 10 available openings, we may have an event or private session happening that may interfere with the ability for a walk-in to participate in a session.

If you are looking to book a private session, we ask that you book in advance, and have a list of all participants. There is additional paperwork for private sessions, and we ask that one person be responsible for the private session fee.

Call 518-785-SALT (7258) to Reserve Your Session Now.

When should we arrive for our Halotherapy (salt cave) appointment?

We ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment to allow yourself time to complete any necessary paperwork, remove shoes, make payment, and use the restrooms, if needed. Each session starts promptly on the hour, and late arrivals will not be permitted due to the meditative nature of the service.

What should we wear into the Salt Cave?

Dress comfortably! It can be slightly cool in the cave area, and blankets will be provided. We ask that you enter the Salt Cave barefoot or wearing white socks. If you’d prefer to not enter barefoot, and do not have white socks, we can provide disposable booties to wear during your session.

***     Please note: Food, drink, and cellphone/electronics will not be permitted into the cave.     ***

Are there lockers to keep our belongings?

We do not have lockers. There are cubbies in the reception area, but they are open. If there is anything you are uncomfortable leaving in the cubbies, please lock your items in your vehicle before your session begins. The Salt Den is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

***     Please note: Food, drink, and cellphone/electronics will not be permitted into the cave.     ***

Will we be in the salt cave alone?

All sessions are open to up to 10 people. There will likely be others in the cave with you, and we cannot guarantee that you will be alone.

If you would prefer to book a private session for a larger party, please call 518-785-7258 to speak with the receptionist.

Can we talk during the session?

Due to the meditative nature of the service, and the likelihood of multiple parties participating, we encourage that attendees refrain from talking during the session, unless the session is booked as a private session. If you would prefer to book a private session for a larger party, please call 518-785-7258 to speak with the receptionist.

Can I read in the salt cave?

The salt cave is very dimly lit and may not be conducive to reading. We encourage that participants use this time to breathe deeply, meditate, and focus on relaxation during the session. In fact, it is not uncommon for participants to fall asleep!

Can I listen to music during my session?

We do not allow any electronics or cell phones into the cave for a variety of reasons, and therefore you will not be able to bring your own music into the session. During the session you will hear soothing ocean sounds and background music designed to encourage relaxation and meditation.
